If you’re afraid of flying we have some good news.
Airlines recorded zero accident deaths in commercial passenger jets in 2017 making it the safest year in history for passengers around the world.
Dutch aviation consulting firm To70 and the Aviation Safety Network both reported Monday that there were no commercial passenger jet fatalities in 2017. It reports only two fatal accidents, both involving small turbo-prop aircraft.
“2017 was the safest year for aviation ever,” said To70 lead researcher Adrian Young.
Young added that the chances of a plane being involved in a fatal accident is now one in 16 million.
