Ashley Bradburn had suffered a burst cyst on his pancreas and fell to the ground in agony. He was home with his two daughters, Chloe, 7, and Gracie May, 3.
“I heard a thud and then I went downstairs and I saw Daddy crying on the floor and then I dialled 999 because I saw he was hurt,” Chloe told Leicester Mercury.
“I waited with Daddy until the ambulance came and then I let the ambulance people in.”
Bradburn, 29, said he is extremely proud of Chloe for her courage and that the illness was completely unexpected.
“She saved my life so obviously I’m extremely proud of her for how brave and courageous she was for dialling 999,” he said. “I’m all back to normal now, thankfully.”
Chloe was presented with a bravery award by East Midlands Ambulance Service at her school. It was handed to her by Cary Ward, the emergency medical dispatcher Chloe spoke to on the phone the day her father collapsed.

“She remained calm throughout the call and was even performed chest compressions,” Ward said. “She should be very proud of her actions and for remaining calm until we were able to get there.”
