Here's How Many People Batman Killed in Batman v Superman

Last week, Warner Bros. released the Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on Digital HD, which features 30 extra minutes of new footage that wasn’t shown in the theatrical cut. For those who are waiting for the July 19 Blu-ray and DVD release of this extended cut, a new video has surfaced revealing exactly how many people Ben Affleck’s Batman killed in this movie. There will be SPOILERS below, so read on at your own risk if you haven’t seen Batman v Superman quite yet.

This video comes courtesy of Mr. Sunday Movies, who delved through the entire movie to pull out all of the scenes where Batman kills somebody. It isn’t known if this video covers just the theatrical cut or the Ultimate Edition. Here’s what Mr. Sunday Movies had to say on YouTube below.

“If you’re in a car and the Batmobile hits you you’re probably dead. I only counted the two in the backseat that get’s a car flipped on it because it only hits the back end. Also I’m not entirely convinced they’re dead. But whatever non of this means anything. Also Nick Mason said it was okay. I didn’t count the guy Batman punches onto his neck, he probably lived through that. Maybe I dunno. The man Batman stabbed looked like it was in the shoulder, though I might be wrong. I didn’t count the ones branded because they’re fairly indirect kills.”

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and Standard Definition 2-Disc DVD will contain a ton of special features, including Uniting the World’s Finest, Gods and Men: A Meeting of Giants, The Warrior, The Myth, The Wonder, Accelerating Design: The New Batmobile, Superman: Complexity & Truth, Batman: Austerity & Rage, Wonder Woman: Grace & Power, Batcave: Legacy of the Lair, The Might and the Power of a Punch, The Empire of Luthor and Save the Bats. It’s worth noting that, earlier this month, a Swedish retailer revealed some of bonus features that will be included, but, while some of them are the same, many of them appear to now be different, or at least they have new titles.

The Blu-ray release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition will feature a Dolby Atmos soundtrack remixed specifically for the home theater environment to place and move audio anywhere in the room including overhead. The official runtime for the Ultimate Edition is 182 minutes, with an R rating for sequences of violence. Zack Snyder teased last month that he is putting back scenes that he was forced to cut so the film would get a PG-13 rating. He also revealed that there is no nudity, just more violence that “tipped the scales” from an R rating to a PG-13.

The R-rated Ultimate Edition recently played in theaters for one night only ahead of the Digital HD release. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has taken in $329.5 million domestically, with an additional $542.3 million internationally for a global total of $871.8 million. The worldwide tally is good for third best this year, behind Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War ($1.1 billion) and Disney’s Zootopia ($993.7 million). Check out this new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice video, and stay tuned for more on the Ultimate Edition.
